Built by people who understand events and people
Event Mental Wellbeing combines more than 15 years of international event leadership with expertise in facilitation, learning, coaching and mental health first aid. We turn that experience into practical decisions event professionals can use.
Events ask a great deal of the people who plan, deliver and attend them. We help organisers and organisations reduce avoidable pressure, strengthen team practices and respond better when someone is struggling.
The aim is simple: make healthier event practice part of normal professional delivery.

Johanna Roodt
Co-founder, lead facilitator and course creator
Johanna combines more than 15 years of international event leadership with facilitation, coaching and wellbeing practice. She has led hundreds of gatherings, from small retreats to conferences for more than 2,200 participants, and understands the commercial, operational and human pressures behind delivery.
She is a certified coach with the Association for Coaching and a licensed Mental Health First Aid Instructor with MHFA England, with additional training in trauma-informed facilitation and sustainable event design. Johanna leads the Event Mental Wellbeing learning experience and keeps every tool grounded in the realities of event work.
Diederick Roodt
Co-founder, learning and organisational development
Diederick brings experience in organisational consulting, leadership development and coaching. A former McKinsey & Company consultant, he has designed learning programmes across industries and cultures and now leads learning and people development at Leladijo Consulting.
He is a certified coach with the Association for Coaching and has completed training in Psychological First Aid through Johns Hopkins University and Positive Psychiatry and Mental Health through the University of Sydney. He brings structure to the learning and helps turn complex ideas into practical behaviour.
We start with the event decisions people are already making: schedules, spaces, roles, communications, escalation and recovery. Our work is grounded in real delivery constraints, recognised frameworks, useful tools and clear professional boundaries.
We explain why each choice matters and show how to put it into practice.
